Support Between Sessions

Your care doesn’t stop when the session ends.

Every client can call Dr. Aslan directly between sessions — for advice, new or worsening pain, or whenever something doesn’t feel right. You’ll speak with a PhD-level clinical exercise physiologist who knows your case — not a call center.

This is where his expertise matters most. Dr. Aslan is trained in risk stratification, ECG interpretation, and symptom assessment, so when a client calls with a concern, he can recognize warning signs and point them to the right care — fast.

He also communicates directly with his clients’ doctors — sharing progress and coordinating plans so everyone involved in your care is on the same page.

Why Exercise Therapy?

Real research behind the work we do — explained in plain language.

Why supervised exercise therapy works

A 2026 La Trobe University trial published in the Annals of Internal Medicine studied 184 adults (ages 18-40) who still had knee problems one to three years after ACL reconstruction. Those who completed a four-month, physiotherapist-led progressive exercise program reported less knee pain, better function, and stronger thigh muscles than those who received a single education session and exercised on their own — and MRI showed no deterioration of knee cartilage. Supervised guidance made the difference.

Why where you exercise doesn’t limit your results

An updated 2026 Cochrane review (University of Glasgow) pooled 107 trials with nearly 27,000 people with coronary heart disease. Structured exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation cut heart attacks by 28% and hospital admissions by 35% compared with no structured exercise — and home-based and digitally supported programs proved just as effective as in-person programs. With the right guidance, the setting doesn’t blunt the benefit.

Why steady, moderate movement pays off

A 2026 University of Edinburgh analysis in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology pooled 17 long-term studies following nearly 177,000 people with coronary heart disease. About 150 minutes a week of moderate activity was linked to 38% lower all-cause mortality compared with none — while doubling to 300 minutes added only around one more percentage point. The takeaway: steady, moderate movement captures most of the benefit; protecting your heart doesn’t require extreme workouts.

Why treatment targets the cause, not just the symptom

Dr. Aslan’s doctoral research at the University of Saskatchewan focused on identifying the mechanisms behind fatigue and shortness of breath in post-COVID recovery. The aim: tailor exercise therapy to the underlying cause of a client’s symptoms — not just the symptoms themselves — so treatment addresses the real problem more efficiently. That mechanism-first approach shapes how every client here is assessed and treated.

Payment

Simple, transparent payment — no insurance paperwork, no surprises.

All sessions are paid out of pocket and are not covered by medical insurance.

FSA / HSA: Sessions that treat a diagnosed medical condition may be eligible for payment with your FSA or HSA funds. You’ll need a Letter of Medical Necessity from your physician — ask us and we’ll provide the documentation.

Meet Dr. Hussain Aslan

Care you can trust, from a highly qualified exercise professional.

Dr. Hussain I. Younis Aslan is a clinical exercise physiologist, educator, and researcher with 27+ years of experience across clinical exercise physiology, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, sports medicine, and university teaching. He earned his Ph.D. in Health Sciences from the University of Saskatchewan — where his doctoral research investigated the mechanisms behind persistent fatigue and shortness of breath following COVID-19 — and holds an M.S. in Exercise Science from Western Washington University. He has been an ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist since 2014.

His clinical background spans hospital-based cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, sports medicine clinics, spinal cord injury rehabilitation, and athletic training — including work with a professional football club — and he has founded and run his own clinical exercise practices in the Seattle area for over a decade.

A published researcher, Dr. Aslan has authored peer-reviewed studies on post-COVID cardiopulmonary and functional recovery, and has taught exercise physiology, sports medicine, and human anatomy at universities in Canada and Iraq. His research has been featured by CBC Radio. He is fluent in English, Arabic, Turkish, and Turkmen.

“My philosophy is simple: find the main cause of the disorder and treat it — not just the symptoms. When you understand the mechanism behind a client’s fatigue, pain, or shortness of breath, you can build an exercise protocol that targets the real problem. That is what makes treatment more efficient — and what makes the results last.”
